ABOUT ME

I have been painting watercolors for over thirty years. It started as a hobby and evolved into a form of therapy I could use in my work as an occupational therapist in hospices in the UK and Canada.

I became truly inspired by working with people who had a life-limiting illness. I realized I could offer them a break from their day-to-day issues and the hospital environment by teaching them how to use watercolors to produce something beautiful on paper. When we painted there was always laughter, discussion, mutual praise and encouragement. What I didn't realize was that apart from just making a beautiful picture, they were regaining their self-worth and leaving a lasting legacy to pass on to their families.

From these experiences, I have gone on to teach beginners watercolor painting in Switzerland, Canada, and now Georgia, USA. This has encouraged me to continue to paint, learn new techniques, and adapt my style over the years.

I have exhibited paintings in three local galleries, I am a member artist of the Acworth Art Alliance and an instructor at the Acworth Art House. I also teach at a local senior center on a voluntary basis and run private classes from my home.
